Refund Policy

TL;DR
Your first month is fully refundable before any deep model feature is triggered; once a Semester Diagnostic or in-depth report is generated, it counts as value delivered and is non-refundable. Sprint packs are 100% refundable before the report is generated; once delivered, the report is considered accepted and non-refundable (unless we discover a data error and remediate ourselves).
Subscription (Pro)
- Refundable in the first month before the deep model is used: within 30 days of subscribing, if no Semester Diagnostic or paid in-depth report has been generated, you can request a full refund. Free features bundled with the subscription (college database, high-school competitiveness index, the first quick assessment) do not affect refund eligibility.
- No refund after deep features are used: a single Semester Diagnostic costs far more in compute than the $9 monthly fee. Once we generate the report, that compute is already spent — so we treat it as value delivered. This rule is what keeps the unit economics workable for the long run.
- Annual subscription: prorated by unused months, minus $15 per Semester Diagnostic already generated. Example: $99/year, used 3 months and generated 2 diagnostics, refund = $99 × 9/12 − 2 × $15 = $44.25.
- Cancellation is not the same as refund: clicking cancel in the account center via "Manage Subscription" only stops the next renewal — the current period stays active. To refund a charge that has already happened, please email [email protected] separately.
Sprint Pack (one-time $49 test / $99 early bird / $199 standard)
- 100% refundable before generation: as long as the report hasn't started generating, one email is enough for a full refund.
- Stuck mid-generation, we refund proactively: if report generation fails or human review stalls beyond 48 hours, we issue a full refund without waiting for you to ask.
- Non-refundable once delivered: once the report is delivered (downloadable PDF or web view), it counts as accepted. The content is highly customized data analysis — once delivered, it can't be returned.
- Data error exception: if external data cited in the report (school CDS / Department of Education Scorecard) doesn't match the official source, email us a screenshot within 7 days; after verification we'll re-issue or partially refund.

The quick assessment, college database, and high-school competitiveness index are free and not subject to refunds. If you have feedback on the free content, please email us — we'll iterate.
How to request

- Body: subscription or sprint pack · order date · brief reason (optional, helps us improve; not a refund condition)
- Once we confirm the request meets the policy, we initiate the refund via Stripe immediately, returning the funds to the card used at checkout.
Bank posting time depends on your card issuer, typically 5-10 business days. US credit cards usually take 3-5 days.
WeChat Pay / Alipay refunds: Stripe doesn't support automatic reversal for these methods, so contact [email protected] for manual handling — typically 5-10 business days.
Cases we don't refund
- Abuse (mass-generating reports then bulk-requesting refunds)
- Violations of the Terms of Service (e.g. essay ghostwriting, reselling reports)
- Credit-card chargebacks instead of using normal channels (Stripe will treat them as disputes — slower, not faster)
Payments and refunds via Stripe
PeiPaoLab does not store your card information; all payment flow is handled by Stripe, Inc.. After we initiate a refund, Stripe returns it via the original path. See our Privacy Policy for more.
